Elissa Post

Elissa Post was named the sixth head coach in Wofford women's soccer history on May 24, 2023. She became head coach after serving two seasons as an assistant in 2021 and 2022, including serving as the associate head coach in 2022.


While at Kansas State working with head coach Mike Dibbini, her responsibilities with the program included video analysis and scouting, on-field instruction with K-State’s student-athletes and assisting at K-State’s various camps and clinics.


Prior to arriving at Kansas State, Post served as an assistant coach at Emporia State from 2016 until 2018. While working with the Hornets, Post was responsible for facilitating practice plans, conditioning and recovery of athletes. She also coordinated on- and off-campus recruiting and helped configure the team’s schedule and travel plans and itineraries.


Before her time at Emporia State, Post served as a youth club coach with Sporting Kaw Valley in Manhattan, as she helped with the development of the U12 boys and the high school girls programs.


Post also worked as a KSYSA staff assistant coach for the 2001/02 girls program. She also served as the junior varsity girls head coach and an assistant varsity coach with Manhattan High School with two stints with the program, the first from 2014 to 2016 and the second in 2018.


She is certified with NSCAA goalkeeper level 1, USSF national C, D and E licenses and NFHS fundamentals of coaching, concussion certified and first aid certified.


Post graduated from Kansas State in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with an emphasis in social studies. In 2018, Post completed her Master of Science degree in HPER from Emporia State. She and her wife, Felicity, have a daughter, Serenity, and a dog, Luna.

Gaby Alfaro

Wofford College head women’s soccer coach Elissa Post announced the addition of Gaby Alfaro as an assistant coach to her staff in late June of 2023. Alfaro joins the Terriers after two seasons as an assistant at Nova Southeastern University and enters her first season at Wofford in 2023.


“I am ecstatic to have Gaby join us at Wofford,” said Post. “She is first and foremost an incredible person and has a brilliant soccer mind. Gaby will make an immediate impact and help us continue to grow the program in various aspects.”


Alfaro spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Division II Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. In her two years as an assistant, the Sharks posted back-to-back winning records and made an NCAA Tournament appearance in the 2022 campaign. In that 2022 season, the Sharks outscored their opponents 30-13, allowing less than one goal per game (0.81).


Outside of the college ranks, Alfaro has been heavily involved as a coach in the club and academy scenes. She served as a girls academy coach for Florida United Soccer Club in 2022. For six years since 2017, Alfaro has served as the lead coach of the GVA Soccer Training Academy in Davie, Florida. She served in her club and academy coaching capacities whilst she was still a full-time student-athlete.


Before joining the NSU coaching staff, Alfaro spent three seasons playing as a defender for the Sharks. A team captain, Alfaro logged over 3,600 minutes of playing time between the 2016-18 seasons, scoring two goals and notching two assists. She helped her squad post double-digit wins in each of her three seasons, including 13 victories in her final season in 2018. The Sharks made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament during all three of her seasons, and she helped lift her team the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Regular-Season Championship, the program’s first. She earned recognition on the 2018 Fall SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.


Alfaro also competed internationally for her country, representing Costa Rica as a captain for both the U17 and U20 National Teams.

A native of San Jose, Costa Rica, Alfaro graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in finance and business administration in May of 2017. She added a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources from NSU in May of 2019.

Mike Korman

Michael Korman joined the Wofford coaching staff in April of 2024. He will work primarily with the goalkeepers.


Korman previously spent six seasons as assistant soccer coach at Bemidji State. He was added to the staff on April 8, 2019, and was responsible for training goalkeepers, coordination of recruiting, and team logistics. The Bemidji State Soccer coaching staff was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches as the Central Region Staff of the year in 2021 and 2022.


In 2023, the Beavers were 13-4-6 overall and 7-3-4 in conference play. They won the NSIC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament. After a first round win over St. Cloud State, they were defeated by Emporia Sate in the second round. Four players were named All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches and six were named All-NSIC, including Defensive Player of the Year Halle Peterson.


During the 2022 season, BSU made program history winning their first-ever NSIC Tournament title and then hosted the NCAA Regionals at Chet Anderson Stadium. Three more wins followed defeating Central Oklahoma, Minnesota State-Mankato and Emporia State to help vault the Beavers into their first-ever NCAA Quarterfinal appearance and first-ever NCAA Central Regional Championship. Korman helped guide the Beaver goalkeepers to a program-record 15 shutouts over 25 matches, the second most in Division II, and a 0.62 goals against average, the third-best in program history. He helped mentor Alyssa Stumbaugh who received her second-consecutive all-region bid as well as All-NSIC Second Team recognition.


The Beavers took a step forward in 2021 with a trip to the NCAA Division II Postseason Tournament third round. With a 19-2-3 record, Korman's goalkeepers totaled a then program-record 14 shutouts with a 0.77 goals against average, the fourth-best in program history. He helped BSU to its second NSIC Regular Season Championship with an undefeated conference record of 13-0-2, the third undefeated conference season in program history, as part of 20 straight unbeaten matches to start the season. BSU ended its season No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll to cap a nine-week run among the top 25 teams in the nation. Goalkeeper Alyssa Sumbaugh earned D2CCA All-Region and All-NSIC First Team honors, in addition to earning NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week honors once.


Korman also worked with Sport Contact USA, a collegiate soccer-specific recruiting service, where he was an evaluator. During his time at Sport Contact USA, Korman traveled around the country evaluating players and worked to help parents and players understand the steps needed to play soccer at the collegiate level.


Korman spent 2014 to 2017 as the assistant men’s soccer coach/goalkeeper coach at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Ind. While at St. Joe’s, he was responsible for the development of recruiting plans throughout the Midwest and internationally, off-season and summer strength and conditioning programs and goalie training programs, while managing team logistics and equipment. He also implemented an academic program for members of the team to maintain a 3.0 GPA and assisted in philanthropy projects. In addition, Korman also served as SJC’s head coach for a portion of the 2014 season.


Korman started his collegiate coaching career in Decatur, Ill., at Division III Millikin University in 2012. As an assistant coach for the men’s program he assistant in the recruitment and retention of players, trained the goalkeepers on a daily basis, was responsible for analyzing game film, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, and the management of team logistics and equipment inventory. During his three-year stay, the Big Blue nearly doubled their win total to 9-8-1 in 2014—the program’s first winning campaign in six seasons.


As a student-athlete, Korman was an NCAA Division II goalkeeper at Saint Joseph’s from 2007-2012.


Korman earned a degree in sport management from Saint Joseph’s in 2012 and the United States Soccer Coaches member since 2013 possesses a National Diploma and Goalkeeper I Diploma.
